| WARNING: Only install our products when power is switched off. When ordering: Know your application's type of load, current and voltage as well as ambient temperature.
When mounting: Mercury displacement devices are position sensitive and should be mounted in an upright and vertical position, no more than 15 ° off vertical.
When wiring: Our mercury contactors are provided with strong field wiring terminals. Be sure to tighten them firmly to avoid hot connections. A torque of 30 or 50 pounds/inch is recommended on load pressure connectors. Only experienced and licensed electricians should install our products.
Select proper fuse to protect each phase.
Use correct size of wire (Consult the National Electric Code).
If cycled rapidly, reduce on-cycle rate to avoid overheating.
Mount unit upright, no more than 5° off vertical.
Be sure nameplate is right side up. (Never remove nameplate-voids warranty).
Wiring diagrams : (NOTE: On DC loads connect positive polarity to bottom load terminal)

| Notes |
- Ratings are per pole, three phase motor loads are for 3 pole units only.
- Ratings should be used as guides. Ambient temperature, cycle rate wire size may affect longevity.
- Fast on/off cycling add to heat and may cause serious damage to a mercury contactor if this heat is not dissipated quickly.
- In fast cycling or higher ambient temperature applications, contactors may have to be derated as much as 50%.
- Contact us for CSA and UL approvals.
- High voltage contactors are rated on their respective pages.

WARNING

Notes
Formula applies, even if star point in wye is grounded
If contactors are used i"in phase", more watts can be switched by the same unit in the "in line" circuit.
When contactors are used "in phase" a supply voltage circuit breaker needs to be installed in close proximity with the contactors.
